'Dangal' wins the award for the 'Highest Grossing Foreign Language Film' for 2017

Aamir Khan starrer 'Dangal' was the biggest blockbuster film of 2016 and let's just say people couldn't stop swooning over it. After winning multiple awards both national and international the film continues its winning streak. The film has now won the award for the Highest Grossing Foreign Language Film for 2017 at soon to be held 72nd Australian International Movie Convention (AIMC) distributed by Disney India and in ANZ by Mind Blowing Films.

Recently, the movie had also become the highest grossing international film in China. It had surged past ‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’, which opened on the same day despite with a much stronger opening weekend. The film had also surpassed Japanese animation 'Your Name', and had also overtaken its gross in India. 'Dangal' had achieved a cult status in China, with a much ongoing debate over its miraculous success. The Chinese audience was not traditionally known to be so enthusiastic towards Indian content.

On the work front, Aamir will next be seen in 'Thugs Of Hindostan' which also stars Amitabh Bachchan. Written and directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya the film is set to be released during Diwali, 2018.
