Aamir Khan: 'Secret Superstar' talks about empowerment of the girl child

Aamir Khan's next 'Secret Superstar' will see the actor in a rather unconventional character. The film is a story about a young girl, played by Zaira Wasim, who aspires to become a singer. However, her journey of becoming a singer is not going to be easy as she has to face hurdles which are her father and the societal pressure.
Aamir's last outing at Bollywood, 'Dangal', too was a tale that threw light on women empowerment and with 'Secret Superstar' he aims to do the same. Aamir, in a recent interaction, said that with 'Secret Superstar' he intends to throw light on equality between men and women, a message that he gave in 'Dangal' too.
Aamir said, "This film and 'Dangal' both are based on the same topic - which is changing the attitude towards girls. Treating girls equally as we treat our boys. This is again based on empowerment of the girl child."
