We all know how a filmmaker can affect the life of an actor. Especially one who is starting out fresh in the industry. And just like Alia Bhatt who owes her career to mentor Karan Johar, we've got one more actor who owes his career to a prolific filmmaker. Abhishek Bachchan made his debut in the industry with J.P. Dutta’s 'Refugee' and so it goes without saying that he shares a special bond with Dutta.

And while the actor backed out of doing 'Paltan' with the filmmaker, he recently said, “Sadly, things did not work out for me, and I couldn’t be a part of the film. But he’s the best, and I wish him best luck. I’m sure he will make a fantastic movie." Abhishek had earlier even teamed up with Dutta for 'LOC Kargil' and 'Umrao Jaan' too, the latter alongside his wife Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

JP Dutta's next, 'Paltan' is based on the Indo-China war of 1962 and stars Jimmy Sheirgill, Arjun Rampal and Sonu Sood among others.
