Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s next to be a surrogacy drama set in Rajasthan and Gujarat

Makers of the film ‘Jasmine’, a film on surrogacy are in talks with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for the lead role. The film is to be shot in Gujarat and Pushkar in Rajasthan, is set to begin later in this year. Siddharth and Garima who had earlier scripted ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ and the upcoming film Shahid Kapoor, Shraddha Kapoor and Yami Gautam ‘Batti Gul Meter Chalu’, will be making their directorial debut with this film which they have also penned.


Shree Narayan Singh confirmed the news about his next film and said, "It is inspired by a real-life story of a woman in Gujarat who doesn't want to have children but decides to become a surrogate mother for someone else. After a point, she gets attached to the child and wants the child back.”


When asked producer Prerna Arora on why Shree Narayan Singh will not be collaborating in this film, the producer said, "That's why we are launching two new directors. We will still have him as editor and co-producer.”


Prerna said that Aishwarya Rai Bachchan is on her wish list when it comes to the lead role, "We would love to have her but it will depend on her dates.”


The actress is currently working on ‘Fanne Khan’. Aishwarya is also said to do a thriller film with Producer Prernaa, While the makers are on the lookout for a director, the project is set to go on the floors in March-April. The diva and will go on to do a remake of the 1961 mystery thriller ‘Raat Aur Din’.
