Aishwarya Rai to not be a part of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s ‘Padmavati’

Rumour mills were abuzz with the news of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s cameo in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmavati’. The actress was said to have a special appearance in the film, and also a dance sequence. But none of these reports turned out to be true.

A source close to a leading daily, recently revealed, "They meet socially (last at the Bachchans’ Diwali bash). He counts her as one of the few friends he has in the industry. But that’s it. There’s been no talk of working together on 'Padmavati'."

Therefore putting the rumours to rest, the source further added, "The conflict in the plot hinges on the three characters — Rani Padmavati (Deepika Padukone), her husband Raja Rawal Ratan Singh (Shahid Kapoor) and Alauddin Khilji (Ranveer Singh), who falls for Padmavati. Aditi Rao Hydari plays Khilji’s wife. Besides that, there is no other female character."

While this puts all the rumours about Aishwarya's cameo in 'Padmavati' to rest, it also saddens us that the actress is not a part of the film.
