Akshay Kumar at a recent event spoke about ‘Kesari’, the film he was supposed to do with Salman Khan. The actor said he couldn’t do it but he will be making the film with Karan Johar. Salman Khan was to co-produce the film with Karan Johar. Kesari will be based on Battle of Saragarhi.

When asked about backing out from ‘Kesari’ Akshay Kumar said, "Yes, we couldn't do it. I am making the film with Karan Johar and that's it. When asked about the progress of the film he said, “The title has been finalised as 'Kesari'. I will start working on the film in January. We will be continuously shooting for it after the release of 'PadMan'."

‘PadMan’ is going to clash with Neeraj Pandey’s ‘Aiyaary’, when asked about the clash the actor said, "Both the films are absolutely different from each other. Neeraj Pandey (director) is a dear friend. And, yes, this word 'clash' has actually come from media. We have no problem in releasing films. There are around 4,000-5,000 screens in India and my film is screened in 2,800 screens. I think it's fair enough."

‘PadMan’ is slated to release on 26th January. It will also star Radhika Apte and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles.
