Akshay Kumar to become the brand ambassador for a road safety campaign

On Tuesday Minister Nitin Gadkari declared that his ministry has requested Akshay Kumar to be the brand ambassador for a road safety awareness campaign. As per reports, the minister spoke to the actor and he also stated that the actor will cooperate with the ministry.


The minister said, “I have talked to Akshay Kumar and he said that he will fully cooperate with us. He said he will be our brand ambassador. We will ask celebrities...so that they call upon people, which will have a positive impact on the new generation.”


The main priority of the ministry was to reduce the number of road accident deaths said the minister. Also, pollution was a big concern for his ministry and a bid to curb vehicular pollution, for which now the Centre has decided to implement stricter emission norms of Bharat Stage (BS) VI form April 1, 2020. He further said, “Petroleum ministry is spending around Rs 90,000 crore to improve its refinery ...and yesterday it (petroleum ministry) said, from Mathura...refinery they are able to provide the fuel which is required for Euro VI.”


The transport ministry has undertaken Rs 12,000 crore project to rectify black spots the minister had also said this earlier. As India stands committed to reducing the road accidents occurring by 50 percent by 2020.
