The 48th International Film Festival of India (IFFI) had a very grand opening on the 20th of November and much like its opening, the closing ceremony too will be a star-studded one. And while we know that Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra are to grace the event, reports now suggest that Akshay Kumar too will make an appearance at the closing ceremony.

A source said, "The festival officials had told us that the details of Akshay Kumar's presence will be shared closer to the ceremony itself. We've heard that something special has been planned." And since the actor has just recently released the poster of his upcoming film 'PadMan' rumour has it that he will be addressing the issue of menstrual hygiene at the event.

Kumar confirmed his presence at the event and said, "IFFI 2017 has truly left a mark and presented cinema lovers with the best in national and international cinema. I look forward to attending the closing and bidding farewell to our guests from around the world." IFFI has had a new lease of life being under the watchful eye of I&B Minister Smriti Irani. The festival will also see performances by Khan, Kaif and Malhotra. Amitabh Bachchan will be honoured with the 'Indian Film Personality of the Year Award' and Canadian director Atom Egoyan will receive the 'Lifetime Achievement Award'.
