Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn are all set to feature in SS Rajamouli’s 'RRR' and we just can't keep calm!

S.S. Rajamouli who happens to be supremely popular for directing the 'Baahubali' series is coming up with yet another film titled 'RRR' that is all set to star Ram Charan and Jr NTR. While fans were eagerly awaiting more news about the film, the director announced that Bollywood stars Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn had been brought on board too. Both Ajay and Alia will be making their Telegu debut with this film. While Alia will be playing one of the leading ladies, Ajay will portray a crucial role too.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Rajamouli said that the fictional film is set in 1920s pre-independent era and is based on the lives of two revolutionaries - Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. “This will be a fictional story on the lives of Alluri Sitarama Raju and Komaram Bheem. There are gaps in the lives of these legendary freedom fighters that we don’t know about. We don’t know what happened in their lives in these years. It is through this fictional story we’d like to show what could have happened in their lives and what would have happened if they met and bonded,” he said.
He also spoke about how glad he was that both Ajay and Alia decided to be a part of the film. “I’m really glad both of them instantly agreed to be part of this project. When I sent Ajay a text that I would like to meet and pitch an idea, he immediately made time to meet. He got really excited after hearing the idea and instantly worked out his dates for this project. Ajay will be seen playing a very important role in the flashback episode,” he said.
“I remember meeting Alia in airport and shared the idea. She excitedly said that she would love to be part of the project and play any role. International actor Daisy Edgar Jones has been paired with Tarak,” he added. The film is all set to have a worldwide release on July 30, 2020 in ten Indian languages.
