Alia Bhatt and Katrina Kaif to star alongside Shah Rukh Khan in Aanand L. Rai's next?

Aanand L Rai's next starring Shah Rukh Khan in the lead, for the first time will see the actor play a dwarf in a film. The untitled next was supposed to go on floor in the later half of this month. The sets for the film have been constructed in Filmcity, Mumbai.
As reported earlier, Deepika Padukone, who had signed on to play the leading lady, had to opt out of the film due to date issues. Deepika took the decision to opt out due to a delay in the 'Padmavati' shoot schedule.
The film that also stars Katrina Kaif would have been interesting if Deepika was still a part it. Deepika and Katrina are arch rivals courtesy a common thread Ranbir Kapoor. It would have been interesting to see the two work together on a project.
Post Deepika opted out of the film there were several other names that popped up as a replacement for the actress.
However, Aanand L Rai has finally found a replacement for the actress. The filmmaker has signed Alia Bhatt to play the lead opposite Shah Rukh in the film. A picture of Shah Rukh and Aanand L Rai at the airport went viral as a girl spotted along with them resembles Alia. It was the picture that sparked the rumours of Alia signing on the film.
