Alia Bhatt opens up about how much cinema and its audience has changed in the past few years

Alia Bhatt is undoubtedly the most promising talent from the new lot of Bollywood actors. The actress delivered back-to-back hits last year with ‘Kapoor & Sons’, ‘Udta Punjab’ and ‘Dear Zindagi’, and even bagged her first ever Best Actress award. Her new film ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’, alongside Varun Dhawan, hit the theatres yesterday and the audience is loving their performance and sizzling on-screen chemistry.

Having proved her versatility by portraying challenging roles and opting for out-of-the-box stories, Alia says cinema has truly changed over the past few years, “Today, stories have the scope of getting any two people together — whoever they may be. It’s eventually a story of two or three people and they can be of different age groups. Now, we are not only confined to doing love stories anymore. We have other stories as well. ‘Dear Zindagi’, in the end, was a very different kind of a love story. That’s the beauty of movies.”

While earlier Alia had asserted that ‘Badrinath Kid Dulhania’ is her only release this year as of now, she recently revealed that after ‘Dear Zindagi’, she is in talks to star in another film with a senior actor. “There have been talks. I won’t deny that. But nothing’s official as of now,“ said Alia before signing off.
