Late actress Madhubala was touted as the most beautiful actress in the industry during her time, and rightfully so. The actress was also considered as one of the most iconic actresses of her time. Now, an American newspaper has decided to pay homage to the legendary actress. The newspaper has paid tribute to the actress who is among 15 remarkable women across the world it pays homage to. The leading newspaper has gone back in time to remember these legendary women by writing their obituary.

"Since 1851, obituaries in our newspaper have been dominated by white men. Now, we are adding the stories of 15 remarkable women," the newspaper wrote. "Obituary writing is more about life than death: the last word, a testament to a human contribution. Yet who gets remembered - and how - inherently involves judgment," they continued. Madhubala who has often also been compared to iconic actress Marilyn Monroe was profiled by Aisha Khan in the newspaper. "Madhubala (born as Mumtaz Begum) often portrayed modern young women testing the limits of traditions," the newspaper said. It also recalled that her first major role as a leading lady was in the 1949 film 'Mahal' opposite Ashok Kumar. She was 16 at the time.
