Amitabh Bachchan: File an RTI to know my remuneration

Amitabh Bachchan, who will be seen returning as the host of 'Kaun Banega Crorepati' for its ninth season, said that the return now feels like a homecoming. Interacting with the press at the show launch, Big B said, "It’s my pleasure to be associated with this show, in which I can hear and share the stories of common men and women. Watching their emotions, sharing their anxieties and seeing their wishes being fulfilled feels great."

Taking a walk down the memory lane and reminiscing about the crorepati winners, senior Bachchan added, "You may have noticed it in too. While some poured water on their heads to cool down, others turned emotional to the extent that they ran in circles on the platform!"

Looking back at his decision to host the first season, Amitabh Bachchan revealed, "I remember, owing to certain personal reasons in 2000, when I decided to take up this show, there was not a very positive response from my family members. I decided to go watch the original show abroad. Today, when people from other countries praise our upgraded setting it makes us all proud."

Talking about the game show he added, "Sometimes, when I repeat the questions or a few other lines, it may bore you but the matter of the fact remains that I follow the procedure. Every participant is reminded of the norms so they can put their best forward."

When asked about his remuneration for the season, Amitabh Bachchan signed off saying, "Whether my remuneration graph has seen any changes, you can apply for an RTI to the Income Tax Department and find out for yourself."
