Anurag Kashyap is back in action with his next film, 'Mukkabaaz' starring Jimmy Sheirgill and Vineet Kumar Singh and while the director is busy promoting his film, he took time out for a media interaction where he openly spoke about the matter or patriotism and nationalism. On being asked about the current scenario in the industry, he had much to say.

Anurag said, ''If you don’t wear the coat of nationalism, then you are being called a traitor. This has actually become a formula. If you are making a film, then you will voluntarily add national anthem at the end. These things have become a marketing formula and people are making huge money out of it. People who are actually doing something are being questioned.'' And when asked who are the people responsible for such things, Anurag said, ''We are the one responsible. We all are doing as we are insecure. We are trying to protect ourselves from others by saying that we are patriotic. I will need to prove every time that I am patriotic.''

About his film, on being asked earlier, he said, ''I didn’t want to make just another sports movie. The stories in it ('Mukkabaaz') is based on are from various states, not just UP. Places where boxing is prominent. Then there are parallels — between wrestling, shooting, basketball. They face similar problems. The system has never really created a sportsman. They have always come out of the personal passion of an individual. I wanted to address that and, in the process, everything around us that was bothering me — casteism and nepotism... It’s not about any political party but society at large.''
