Anurag Kashyap thanks, Prasoon Joshi and Smriti Irani after ‘Mukkabaaz’ gets U/A certificate

Director Anurag Kashyap is thankful to the Censor Board, as the CBFC has been given a U/A certificate for Anurag’s film ‘Mukkabaaz’. The director is grateful to the CBFC chief Prasoon Joshi for a "reasonable, rational and empowering experience". He also thanked the I&B minister Smriti Irani for giving him some space to express himself in a fearless and free manner through his movie.


Anurag announced the news on Twitter, he wrote, "In times of uncertainty and great doubt I am grateful to actually have a reasonable, rational and empowering experience with the CBFC. U/A with one voluntary audio deletion.”






He even wrote, "Thank you @prasoonjoshi_ and @smritiirani and the board and the revising committee panel. Just to be given space to speak freely and fearlessly makes it all so worth it.”




The film stars Vineet Kumar Singh and Zoya Hussain, the film is a sports drama which portrays the power dynamics in Uttar Pradesh and has been receiving a lot of praises even before its scheduled release on January 12 this year.
