Are these Bollywood actresses extending support to Deepika Padukone through the ‘Padmavati’ controversy?

National-Award winner Shabana Azmi has been vocal about her thoughts and feelings on the whole ‘Padmavati’ issue. The actress has time and again sliced up that the death threats issued to actress Deepika Padukone are inessential.
Off late, the whole team of ‘Padmavati’ has been refraining from making any comment on the controversy. While many Bollywood celebrities including Salman Khan, Sidharth Malhotra and Shabana Azmi have come out in support of the team. Now, it seems Shabana Azmi is taking a step forward.
Shabana Azmi and other few actresses are all set to support Deepika’s safety. Besides vocalising her feelings on the issue, one hears from reliable industry sources that Shabana and some other prominent Indian actors will meet the powers that be in New Delhi and submit a written memo seeking support and protection for Deepika’s safety in this case.
We hear that only three to four actresses are still to sign the paper. A source informed, “Everyone has been approached. We are awaiting the signatures of A-listers like Kangana Ranaut, Katrina Kaif, and two more actresses. Once they sign, we will be taking the matter forward.’’
