Was Athiya Shetty the first choice for Dinesh Vijan's next with Diljit Dosanjh?

Recently, it was announced that actress Kriti Sanon and actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh were coming together for Dinesh Vijan’s next film. Reportedly the film will be a rom-com set in the North. This is also the first time that the two stars will be sharing screen space together in Bollywood. Apparently, there is news that Kriti's role was first offered to Suniel Shetty's daughter Athiya Shetty. But eventually, after a few discussions, the role went to Kriti.
A source close to the film revealed, “Athiya too was vying for the same role as Kriti. But Dinesh went ahead with Kriti after a few discussions. Athiya is also looking at starting another film at the same time and she didn’t have dates, so, Vijan went ahead with his 'Raabta' heroine.”
On the work front, Kriti also has Nikkhil Advani’s next production venture, which will be directed by Saurabh Shukla, lined up. Stay tuned for more updates.
