Barely two weeks before it opens in cinemas, ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’ has landed in trouble

SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, which is all set to hit the theatres on April 28, has landed itself in trouble. Barely two weeks before it opens in cinemas, over 2000 pro-Kannada groups have threatened the release of the movie, reason being, actor Sathyaraj’s years-old controversial speech during the Cauvery row. They have further demanded that the actor, who plays the character of Katappa in the franchisee, to apologise to Kannadigas before the film’s release.

Addressing the controversy, the film’s producer Shobu Yarlagadda asserted, “Sathyaraj had made those comments almost eight to nine years ago. I don’t think this is a major issue. We are trying to resolve the matter amicably and release the film as planned.”

What’s left to be seen is whether the film will find its way to the theatres in Karnataka.
