'Beauty and the Beast' trailer will transport you back in time

The trailer for Disney's live-action retelling of 'Beauty and the Beast' is finally out, and I for one cannot wait for the film to release. Keeping the essence of the original 1991 animated film alive, this retelling showcases the magical fairy tale on a grander and a more opulent scale.


The 119 second trailer shows Belle's father Maurice (Kevin Kline) kept as a prisoner by the Beast (Dan Stevens) at his castle. It is then Belle (Emma Watson) who steps in Maurice's place as Beast's prisoner, and eventually realises that Beast s kinder than what he appears to be on the surface. On the otherhand we see the villagers being led by Gaston (Luke Evans) in an attack against the Beast.

Directed by Bill Condon, Beauty and the Beast has been in production since 2014. It’s one of many live-action Disney remakes, including Aladdin and Mulan, which are due to hit theaters in the coming years. The film release across the globe on 17th March 2017.
