‘Brahmastra’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor to release in 3D

A lot has been spoken about Karan Johar’s next ‘Brahmastra’, as it was earlier said that the title of the film was ‘Dragon’. Apparently the filmmaker Karan Johar who is producing the movie revealed the title as same which is ‘Brahmastra’. The movie is a trilogy and will have Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles and will be directed by Ayan Mukerji.



According to a leading daily the announcement said, "Dharma Productions is proud to announce one of its most ambitious films Ayan Mukerji's directorial venture We embark a journey into the realm of a fantasy adventure series which will be a trilogy Collaborating on this exciting journey with us is Fox Star Studios and Namit Malhotra. We are honoured to have Mr. Amitabh Bachchan lead our cast along with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt. The first part of our big screen spectacle will release on August 15, 2019. And we finally have a title ‘Brahmastra’."



As per reports the film will have a budget of over INR 150 crore. Namit Malhotra, co-producer of the film, told, "We aspire to create something homegrown that can match Hollywood standards. We can't be penny-pinching with the scale. Hollywood has moved from dramas and rom-coms to big scale films, which makes more money eventually. India too is getting there."



‘Brahmastra’ to be released in 3D to up the cinematic experience. "We will shoot it the regular way and then convert it into 3D. The visual effects and conversion quality will be superlative," added Namit Malhotra.He went on to add, "The films will progress from establishing the characters to the protagonist achieving his goal. Ayan's vision will strike a chord with everyone, from the ages of six to 60. In terms of concept, it doesn't share any similarities with other Bollywood superhero films, like ‘Krrish’ [2006]. The title itself conveys that the story is rooted in our cultural heritage."



Apparently a source told to a leading daily, "Karan plans to go big with ‘Brahmastra’. He has asked the team not to worry about the budget. KJo understands that a superhero film needs a mounting of a certain stature."
