Cannes Film Festival 2017 was not the first time Deepika Padukone walked the red carpet, however, this time was special as she walked as the brand ambassador for a popular beauty brand. While Deepika absolute slayed on the first day of Cannes in a sheer purple Marchesa dress, she made a bold statement with bottle green thigh-high slit gown on her second appearance on the red carpet.

With this being Deepika's second appearance at the Cannes red carpet she is bound to be compared with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor who are now regular at the festival. Talking to a leading tabloid about the same, Deepika quips, "I feel it shouldn't happen. This is an incredible platform to showcase our talent and represent a brand or a movie. We all are such strong individuals and I don't see any overlap [tension],"

On day one, Deepika was photographed having a good time with Hollywood celebrities Julianne Moore and Susan Sarandon. Talking about the time she spent, Deepika said, "At 7 am, we were getting our hair and make-up done. What I enjoyed the most was that we all are celebs, but in that room, we were three women giggling, chatting and being real."

As Deepika further talks about the perception of Indian cinema in Cannes, the actress concludes, "Susan was talking about her son picked up a dance element from Indian films and incorporated in his film. I know all our movies are not just about song and dance. Though people are aware of the kind of films we make, there's a lot to do in terms of educating them."
