A top Bollywood actress made headlines in 2014 when she filed a police complaint against her ex-boyfriend, Ness Wadia for allegedly molesting and threatening her during an IPL match. The actress had filed a complaint and submitted four photos that showed ‘bruise-like’ marks on her right arm. She also mentioned that she was badly hurt as Ness had grabbed her with force. She had also alleged that Ness had abused the team’s staff over ticket distribution, during a match. The actress also claimed that she was also abused for the third time on the ground during that match, in front of team members.

The actress' husband, Gene Goodenough was present at the scene at the time and had recorded his statement with the police via email. A source told a leading daily, "In his statement, Goodenough supported her claims, stating he had intervened when Wadia molested and abused the actress, and he’s asked Wadia not to misbehave with a woman."

Ness Wadia had in July that year shared names of nine witnesses who were present at the stadium and he had requested the police to record their statements. In May 2016, the police had recorded Wadia’s statement too. A source said, "The police have attached statements of several people in the charge sheet. During the filing of the charge sheet, Wadia was present in the court, which allowed him to go on a personal bond of Rs. 20,000." Ness was present at the hearing where he was charged under the Indian Penal Code sections 354 (assault or criminal force against woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 506 (criminal intimidation), and 509 (word, gesture, or act intended to insult the modesty of woman). The businessman was then granted bail later.

Now, a top police official said, "We have filed the charge sheet against Ness Wadia on Tuesday; it is 500 odd-pages." The police have revealed that statements of all the witnesses mentioned have been procured and after this charge sheet, a trial seems possible finally.
