Chetan Bhagat grabs headlines again, slams firecracker ban

Everyone knows that Diwali is the festival of lights but what most people don't seem to know is that it isn't the festival of firecrackers. Last year, the day after Diwali, Delhites complained of almost zero visibility and this was all thanks to the firecrackers that people had burst. Following this, the Supreme Court has banned the sale of firecrackers just short of the festival.

Now, Chetan Bhagat is infamous for getting embroiled in controversies. After the ban, the author took to Twitter to express his "opinion" on the issue. And of course, like always, this too ended up in a battle between him and the Twitterati. Here's what the author tweeted.

Now as if this wasn't enough, not only did he wage war against the Twitterati, he also went on a communal rant about how the government should also impose bans on practices followed by other religions.

Chetan also indulged in a Twitter war with Shehzad Poonawalla, Secretary of Maharashtra Congress.

Even Shashi Tharoor got into the midst of the battle.

After all the drama, he ended his rant with another nonsensical statement.

Stay tuned for more updates.
