Confirmed! Shoojit Sircar’s next to star Varun Dhawan

Earlier there were reports about Varun Dhawan signing on a film with well-known director Shoojit Sircar, however, there was no confirmation on the same until now. Shoojit has now confirmed that he is in talks with Varun for a film, and the actor too has been meeting the director for discussions. (Also Read: Varun Dhawan to star in Shoojit Sricar's next?!)

Talking to Catch News, Shoojit confirmed the development, and said, "I cannot speak on it right now. Varun and I are still talking and discussing the script. Yes, we both are excited; soon I will announce more details about it. Definitely, it is going to be an unconventional film. Varun has met us a couple of times. I find him nice and I am excited about starting something new."

Shoojit also added that 'Piku' writer Juhi Chaturvedi is going to pen the film. "Juhi and I are coming together after 'Piku' and 'Vicky Donor', that is really exciting for me. Juhi is writing the film and we both have worked on the script," revealed the filmmaker.

The film is a dark noir, and this will be the second time that Varun will be seen in a film which is in a grey space. Varun is currently busy promoting his next, 'Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya' alongside Alia Bhatt. Post that he will start shooting for his father David Dhawan's 'Judwaa 2' alongside Taapsee Pannu and Jacqueline Fernandez.
