Deepika Padukone: I was not engaged

There have been constant rumours that Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh are engaged. And while they have been in an alleged relationship and even seen at several public events indulging in PDA, you can be rest-assured that the couple isn't engaged...at least, as of now. Ranveer and Deepika did bring in the New Year together with their families at a resort in the Maldives but to much disappointment of all you Deepika and Ranveer fans, the verdict has been passed by Deepika herself and she states that she is nowhere close to being married!
At a recent interview conducted by Neha Dhupia, Deepika did address the rumours. When Neha asked Deepika about the rumours of being engaged, she said, “I was not engaged.” Neha even prodded her further and asked to see her ring finger. She checked for a tan and exclaimed that the tan was indeed evident. Hence, implying that Deepika was apparently sporting a ring on her vacation.
On this, Deepika’s sister Anisha remarked, “She has been engaged successively for the last four years.” Last year too there were reports that Ranveer and Deepika had gotten engaged. At the time, Deepika had said, “There's no such plan anytime soon. I'm not pregnant, I'm not having a baby, I'm not engaged and I'm not married. And I'm not even planning to get married anytime soon.”
