Deepika Padukone to not attend Cannes this year

Deepika Padukone has managed to make a place for herself globally post the success of her international debut, 'xXx: Return of Xander Cage'. While the actress has been creating waves internationally, she was also recently named as the global ambassador for a popular beauty brand.

According to industry hearsay, Deepika has replaced Katrina Kaif to join Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor as the face of the brand. However, according to reports, Katrina has not been replaced and rather her contract with the brand ended. While the reasons for Katrina's apparent exit are not clear at the moment, reports suggest that Deepika has been eyeing this spot for quite some time now.

If some reports are to be believed, Deepika even slashed her remuneration to be able to be a part of this brand. It was only a few days back that there were reports of Deepika's exit as an ambassador for another cosmetic brand. This shift certainly seems to have worked in Dippy's favour!

While Katrina walked down the Cannes red carpet as an ambassador for this brand, Deepika recently clarified that she will not be attending Cannes this year. The 'Piku' actress said, "No. Right now all my energies are focused on 'Padmavati'."
