Diana Penty: Every young girl, who aspires to look like a model or an actress should know that we don’t wake up looking like this

The beauty industry breeds on self-doubt. Commercials make you believe that you have to look a certain way to be called beautiful. Thus we asked model turned actress Diana Penty as to what she had to say about this obsession for ‘perfection’.
The actress said, “It takes an hour or two of make-up and styling for us to look this way. If it's a print shoot, the photographer has certain lighting and a lot of elements that go into it. A lot of factors contribute to how we look and there's photoshop over and above these things. There are levels of help required Every young girl, who aspires to look like a model or an actress should know that we don’t wake up looking like this. Most girls are unaware of this and it’s unfair on them. Also, I won’t promote something blindly. Being a public figure comes with a certain responsibility. Even if you are influencing only five people, you have to be responsible.”
