Akshay Kumar doesn’t leave any stones unturned when it comes to promoting his films, particularly the ones that have a social cause at the helm. Take ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ for instance. While the actor has been talking extensively about India’s battle with open defecation and allied the menace and the lack of sufficient number of toilets in cities and villages, his team seems to be in a celebratory mood. Reason? A new public toilet has opened near his house in Juhu.

Talking about it, he said, “It’s at Juhu Circle, near my house. When it was opened for public, my staff jumped out of their cars and took photos. They were so happy for the public since it’s the best pit stop before going to the beach.” Understandable, since Akshay himself has admitted on several occasions recently that he has caught several men defecating on the beach and has reprimanded them too.

When asked if he had ever used a public toilet after becoming an actor, Akshay promptly says, “I use public toilets all the time, especially at airports. I even change for events in them. But I’m looking forward to trying out the new toilet that’s opened near my house.”

Starring Bhumi Pednekar alongside Akshay, ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’ will hit the theatres on 11 August.
