With films like ‘Baby’, ‘The Ghazi Attack’ and now ‘Naam Shabana’, Taapsee Pannu has brought some of the strongest female characters to life on the silver screen. But ask her if she relates to her characters and Taapsee says, ‘Not at all!’

Recently, in an exclusive interview with team MissKyra, we asked Taapsee about the similarities between her on-screen character ‘Shabana’, from her upcoming film ‘Naam Shabana’, and her. To this, she said, “There are no similarities between me and Shabana. This is probably the first time I am doing a role, which is everything out of my comfort zone. I can’t even slap a person in real life unless and until you push me to the wall. So for a girl who can just hit and pin down a guy so easily, I can’t relate to that character.”

She further added, “Being a spy, she has an amazing sixth sense; I am very gullible. I take everything at face value as Taapsee. So, it was very difficult for me to read between the lines the way Shabana would. Also, she is a woman of very few words; I talk a lot (laughs). So I can’t identify with this character at any level.”

Talking about her fears and insecurities, the actress revealed, "I am very scared of the day I will not have the people who matter to me in my life. That is the only fear I have. As long as I have the people who matter to me in my life I don’t really fear much.”

She continued, “Probably, I have the fear of being disabled, physically, not being able to do my own things by myself. I think these are the basic fears that I have. Beyond that, I don’t really think I have fears. For this girl (Shabana), that quote, “Jab Tak Hai Jaan”, applies and for me too, jab tak hai jaan, I will keep going ahead.

Helmed by Shivam Nair and produced Neeraj Pandey and Shital Bhatia under the Friday Filmworks banner, ‘Naam Shabana’ will hit the theatres on 31st March.
