Farhan Akhtar says there is no substance in borrowing stories from other countries

Farhan Akhtar is currently gearing up for the release of his upcoming movie ‘Lucknow Central’, which will bring to the audience a real life small town story backed by power-packed actors like Gippy Grewal, Diana Penty, Ronit Roy, Deepak Dobriyal, Rajesh Sharma and Inaamulhaq. But it’s not just the actors but also the movie’s powerful story line which is the hero of the project.

Talking about the vitality of a strong story line, Farhan recently asserted, “Eventually, if the story is not good wherever it is set, be it a small town, big city or foreign locations, the film won’t work. If you want to be inspired from something or want to console yourself then the only thing that matters is content driven films. When we think of content or try to borrow content from other nations, think of what’s happening there, that are not our stories. So if we want to focus on content then we should focus on our stories, our heroes, our issues and that’s what is happening right now. A lot of stories are created on our people, be it in small towns or anywhere, but success is not guaranteed”.

Inspired from true life events, ‘Lucknow Central’, produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Emmay Entertainment and Motion Pictures, and directed by Ranjit Tiwari, will hit the theatres on 15th September.
