Filmmaker Hansal Mehta gets candid about Rajkummar Rao starrer 'Omerta'

It was recently announced that Rajkummar Rao was to next be seen in filmmaker Hansal Mehta's upcoming film 'Omerta'. 'Omerta' is based on the real-life story of British terrorist of Pakistani descent Ahmed Omar Saeed Sheikh. He is infamous as one of the most dreaded terrorists in the world. Talking about the film Hansal said that 'Omerta' will expose state-sponsored terrorism and how it manages to manipulate young minds. "'Omerta' exposes state-sponsored terrorism and how it manipulates young minds into believing a sordid interpretation of Jihad. Terror is all about power," he said in a statement.

"Packed screenings at film festivals around the world were met with shocked silence and often anger. I am expecting similar reactions from the audience to this shocking tale," he continued. So far the film has already won several accolades and was even featured at the Toronto International Film Festival. On Monday, the first poster of the film was released which shows Rajkummar praying under a target sign. Talking about his role in the film, Rajkummar had said that this was "easily the toughest" role he has played till date. The film is slated to release on April 20. Stay tuned for more updates.
