Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani to make his acting debut in the Dutt biopic?

Ace filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani’s untitled next is a biopic on actor Sanjay Dutt. Stepping in Sanjay Dutt’s shoes will be Ranbir Kapoor, who has already started shooting for the film. The film will depict the different phases in Sanjay’s life, and Ranbir has already begun his prep for the same.

Sanjay, who is taking keen interest in the biopic, has vested his trust on Raju Hirani as the two have been closely associated. A recent report, however, suggests that Rajkumar Hirani will also be making his acting debut in the film.

A source close to a leading daily reveals, “A source close to the filmmaker tells us, “Rajkumar’s Munna Bhai MBBS (2003) and Lage Raho Munna Bhai (2006), featuring Sanjay have been career-defining movies for the actor. So, Raju is considering including the shooting process of the films in the biopic. These scenes, if included, will also feature Raju. He was in a dilemma, but now seems almost ready to play the part.”

The source further adds that the role is apt for Raju as he has played an integral part in Dutt’s life.

Apart from Ranbir, the film also stars Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, Paresh Rawal and Manisha Koirala in pivotal roles.
