Veteran actress Sridevi's untimely demise has left everyone in a state of shock. At the mere age of 54, the actress passed away leaving her family and friends in a state of disbelief. Talking about Sridevi, filmmaker Subhash Ghai said, "Sridevi worked in my 1986 film 'Karma'. She was pure magic on screen. She was not one of the finest actors, but the finest one Indian cinema had since 1985. She was a quiet lady who had a bundle of talent. She could shock directors. She was upheld as the queen of acting in all languages. She was a dedicated homemaker, a great mother and the perfect host. She maintained her dignity and integrity as an actor, and a person, in this demanding industry. Her work on screen will be written in textbooks."

Earlier it was speculated that the actress had passed away as a result of a cardiac arrest. But now forensic reports apparently claim that her cause of death was due to accidental drowning. The actress was in Dubai with her husband and daughter Khushi, to attend a wedding. Since she passed away in the country, her remains are yet to be sent back to Mumbai. Due to an ongoing investigation, it is hard to tell when her body will be repatriated to Mumbai. Stay tuned for more updates.
