Troubles seem to be unending for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, 'Padmavati', as the director may now face legal trouble from the Jaipur Royal family
Troubles seem to be unending for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus, 'Padmavati'. Recently, the director was assaulted and the sets vandalised by the members of a local organisation, Karni Sena, while shooting for the film in Jaigarh Fort, Rajasthan. The protestors claimed that they had created havoc on the sets as they believed that Sanjay Leela Bhansali was going to distort the historical facts in the movie.

While that matter seems to just have settled, the director may now face legal trouble from the Jaipur Royal family. The erstwhile Royal family is apparently upset with the production house for providing them with the complete details about the film. The release issued by Former Rajmata Padmini Devi reads, "The department set up to take care of shootings and granting permission did not provide full information to the Royal Family relating to the film and gave permission to shoot it. When it came to the knowledge of the Royal Family, disciplinary action is being taken against the erring officials of the department."

The written statement also said maintained that Jaipur Royal Family stands committed to protect the proud history of Rajasthan. Post the incident, the member of the royal family also added that the entire story (of the film) will be meticulously verified before granting further permission for the shoot in the historic monuments of the family.

"Anyone attempting to distort the heritage or the history will not be tolerated at any cost. The Family stands with Shri Rajput Karni Sena and other such national organisations which want to keep alive the rich and proud history of Rajasthan," the statement concluded.

However, the matter seems to have been resolved the next day as Bhansali Productions clarified that there was no dream sequence or any objectionable or romantic scene between Rani Padmini and Allauddin Khilji.
