‘Golmaal 4’ to avert clash with ‘2.0’, will now release in 2018

Rumour mills are abuzz that the makers of ‘Golmaal 4’ are contemplating on changing their release date to 2018 instead of 2017. The makers of ‘Golmaal 4’ were in the news as they couldn’t finalise on the lead actress of the film. Until things fell in place, and director Rohit Shetty announced that they have roped in Parineeti Chopra to play the part.

Just as things started to fall in place, the makers of ‘Golmaal 4’ saw themselves in a fresh series of trouble. The makers had first decided to release the film in 2017 during Christmas, but now are thinking for a date change so as to avert a clash. The team plans to shift the release date to 26th January 2016 so as they don’t clash with the release of Akshay Kumar and Rajinikanth starrer ‘2.0’. Talking to a leading magazine, a source revealed, “The team is looking at shifting the date to 26th January 2018. There is no point of releasing two big films on the same day as both will eat into each other’s business.”

This decision comes from a recent experience where Ajay Devgn’s ‘Shivaay’ faced a loss at the box office as it released on the same day as ‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’. Also, in the past films have had to face losses due to another film releasing at the same time. If the makers of ‘Golmaal 4’ decide to release the film on 26th January 2018, then they will have a long weekend to themselves. And this could prove a lot profitable for the film.
