Govinda opens up about a dull phase in his life
Govinda starrer 'Aa Gaya Hero' is all set to hit theatres on March 3, and the actor is going out and about promoting the film. Govinda's last outing at the Box Office was in 2014 when the actor did substantial roles in 'Kill Dill' and 'Happy Ending'. It has been two years since his last outing on the silver screen.

The actor had taken a break from films as he dabbled in politics, and made a comeback of sorts in 2014. However, both his films failed to perform at the Box Office, and the phase was considered a lull for the actor. The actor opened about the same to a leading tabloid. He said, "They didn't see me as a full-fledged hero. I was not looking like a hero. It was very tough for me, that phase. Industry is in few hands, and has always been. It all depends on the release of films and your success. Everything revolves around success. Success hoga to kamaal hoga, tab hi log tumse baat karenge (If you are successful then only people will talk to you)."

The actor further admitted that he "shouldn't have joined politics at all", and said, "I let go of many projects because I didn't see myself in them. Now it's my time to prove whether those decisions were correct or not. My wife asked me to sign those films which I did, 'Happy Ending' and 'Kill Dil', but they came and went. Nothing happened with my career."

He further went on to say, "They were big projects, I was praised, the films were also praised to some extent. In spite of that, they didn't reach to that level. Maybe it's just fate. We all start from scratch, take right decisions and move forward. It requires a lot of dedication. I have put all of this in the film."

'Aa Gaya Hero' is the actor's attempt to hit back at the Box Office. The film has been written and produced by Govinda and is directed by Dipankar Senapati. "It was very important for me to come back the way people love me. I was not getting what I deserved. When I did last few films, I thought people are not utilising me the way they can. I am getting used," said the actor as he spoke about the film before he signed off.
