Reports suggest that the engaged couple has asked the two-time Grammy winner to perform "a few songs" at their wedding on the 19th of May. However, the British singer-songwriter has not yet responded to or confirmed the news. Sheeran has previously expressed interest in performing at the royal wedding. In December when he was asked if he'd sing for the couple's first dance, he said, "I haven't been asked." And he was quick to add, "Yeah, why not?"
"I get asked this all the time like I know the Royal family. I've met Harry once!" Ed had told a leading daily earlier. 'Hey'... I barely know him," he had continued saying. It wouldn't be unprecedented for Harry and Meghan to have a big-time singer at their wedding this spring and who better than Ed to set the mood, right?
