Here’s why Kangana Ranaut rejected Majid Majidi’s ‘Beyond the Clouds’

Shahid Kapoor’s brother Ishaan Khatter is all set to make his Bollywood debut with Majid Majidi’s much awaited ‘Beyond the Clouds’. While earlier the makers were considering getting ‘Padmavati’ star Deepika Padukone on board as well, sources say the actress turned down the role as it wasn’t meaty enough.

But not many people know that the makers had approached another main stream Bollywood actress for the same role. The Iranian filmmaker was keen on having ‘Queen’ actress Kangana Ranaut on board as well. However, Kangana too turn downthe role. When quizzed about the same, Kangana admitted, “It’s a brother-sister story where the brother is the one doing all the fighting. Since I’m jumping straight into Ketan Mehta’s Jhansi ki Rani, who was an iconic heroine, why would I take on such a submissive role?”

Kangana is currently gearing up for the release of her upcoming film ‘Rangoon’, which is all set to hit the theatres on 24th February.
