Karan Johar: No. I don't want to release on that day. Eid belongs to Salman Khan!
Film releases are one of the most exciting discussions in the Bollywood industry. Filmmakers try their best to not let their films clash with any other big film so as to avoid a loss at the box-office. However, sometimes, like in the case of 'Raees' and 'Kaabil' or 'Shivaay' and 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', a clash was inevitable. Actors too have a fixed holiday off that they release their films on - Salman Khan releases his films on Eid, Aamir Khan takes dips on Christmas, whereas Shah Rukh Khan mostly comes up with films during Diwali.

With 2017 starting big with a clash between 'Raees' and 'Kaabil', Karan Johar, who released the trailer of his next production 'Badrinath Ki Dulhaniya', was questioned if he would release a film on Eid. To this, the filmmaker said, "No. I don't want to release on that day. Eid belongs to Salman Khan and is owned by him. Unless I do a film with him then I can very happily arrive on Eid. Look we are here to release films in a manner we can optimise numbers. As a producer, the studio we partner with, we make sure that we come on a day when we can really choose. We have to see what is coming before, what is coming after and a lot of verticals need to be seen. You have to truly strategise the release and the post work is also very critical. How many screens and all. The release date is becoming more challenging and it is something we have to toy a lot."

Well, this is one clash that everyone in the industry wants to avoid!
