Here’s why Rajinikanth couldn’t attend Sridevi’s prayer meet in Chennai

On Sunday the Kapoor family attended the final round of prayer meet of late actress Sridevi. The actress passed away on February 24. The prayer meet was held in her hometown Chennai at a hotel. The Kapoor family flew into Chennai on Saturday with a heavy heart.


Boney Kapoor used to frequent visit Tamil Nadu with his wife Sridevi and they usually stayed at her home or a hotel in the heart of the city, ordering home-cooked meals from the actress’ kitchen. With a heavy heart Boney Kapoor and his brother-in-law, Sridevi’s sister Latha’s husband Sanjay Ramaswami met the continuous stream of visitors who had come to offer their condolences.


But at the prayer meet the one person who was missing was superstar Rajinikanth, who was reportedly not in town. However, the rest of the Tamil cinema industry made it a point to spend their time in prayer.
