Hrithik Roshan and Yami Gautam starrer 'Kaabil' to now release in Pakistan
The Uri attacks and the constant unrest at the border led to differences between India and Pakistan resulting in a war like situation. The unrest further resulted in political parties taking a stand against Pakistani artists working in the Hindi film industry. A ban was imposed on the Pak artistes prohibiting them from working in Bollywood. However, the cinema owners in Pakistan faced a loss of over Rs 150 million in two months. The loss incurred was because of a self-imposed ban by Pakistani cinema owners who refused to screen Indian films.

'Dangal' had just released when cinema owners in Pakistan had lifted the ban, but the film didn't release as apparently, the distributors released an official statement confirming the same. However, Pakistan has now issued a No Objection Certificate (NOC) for the Hrithik starrer 'Kaabil', and the film is all set to release in the neighbouring country this weekend after a four-month-long ban.

An official of Hum Films confirmed the news, and said, "We are planning to release Kaabil on Friday once we get the clearance certificate from the Central Censor Board of Film Certification as well." While 'Kaabil' is all set to release in Pakistan, the NOC for SRK-Mahira Khan starrer 'Raees' is awaited. (Also Read: Mahira Khan: Pakistani films are my priority)

This move came in after an NOC was issued on the recommendation of a committee formed by Pak PM Nawaz Sharif to look into the screening of Indian films locally. With 'Kaabil' now allowed to screen in the Pak theatres, the process of Indian films being screened in the Pak theatres will finally begin.
