Irrfan Khan's next, 'Hindi Medium' to star Pakistani actress Saba Qamar

The Uri attacks aftermath has caused a further division between India and Pakistan, with no near opportunity of a possible reconciliation. A series of ceasefire angered the people, and eventually led to the ouster of Pakistani artists from India. It is in the wake of this aftermath that a ban was imposed on Pakistani artists.

Several films starring Pak actors saw themselves in a soup, as political parties rallied and protested ahead of their release. The producers soon found a common ground to resolve the matter and took a collective decision against signing Pak artistes in the near future. But this move has certainly not affected Irrfan Khan as he gears up for his next alongside a Pakistani actress.

Irrfan's next, 'Hindi Medium', will star Saba Qamar alongside him. Speaking about the same at an event, Irrfan, when quizzed about the actress, had a rather funny reply on the matter. Irrfan said that Saba Qamar gets married to an Indian in the movie, so technically she is an Indian. Though the Indian media understood his statement, the Pakistani media misconstrued his statement and presented it otherwise. They played breaking news highlighting that Saba actually got married to an Indian man.

Speaking about the film to The Tribune, Saba revealed, "I play the character of a wife who is a wee bit dominating and is looked after very tenderly by her husband (played by Irrfan Khan)." The film is a rom-com and is to be helmed by Saket Chaudhary with Dinesh Vijan and Bhushan Kumar co-producing the film.

Well, with the ongoing tension between the countries, the fate of this film will only be decided once it nears its release!
