Is 'casting taboo' the reason why Priyanka Chopra won't work with Shah Rukh Khan in the Rakesh Sharma biopic?

Aamir Khan and Priyanka Chopra were going to star in the upcoming Rakesh Sharma biopic, 'Salute' however that news didn't pan out to be true as Aamir decided to opt out of the film to further his own next venture and give it more attention. That was when reports suggested that Aamir urged Shah Rukh Khan to take up the role. And now that Shah Rukh has given his go-ahead to the project, reports suggest that Priyanka Chopra had to opt out of it.

A source who clued into the development informed, “It’s quite elementary, really. PeeCee and Shah Rukh don’t work together. It’s a casting taboo that the whole industry knows. When Aamir was replaced by SRK in the Rakesh Sharma biopic, Salute, Priyanka had to go too.” It’s also for this reason that Priyanka is unlikely to be seen in the third part of the 'Don' series. “No matter what they say, the fact is that the 'Don' team, producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar, are on the lookout for a replacement for Priyanka in the third film," said a source close to the project.
