Priyanka Chopra is all set for the release of her film ‘Sarvann’ which has been produced under her home banner Purple Pebble Pictures. The story of the film revolves around an NRI boy who comes back to India to reconnect to his true roots. In a recent in interview with a leading daily Priyanka’s mother Madhu Chopra revealed that the film has been inspired by Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer ‘Udta Punjab’.

Talking about it she said, “It was disturbing (Udta Punjab). There have also been continued reports about how the youth of Punjab is going ashtray from their own identity. Priyanka has made a much needed, impactful film."

Talking about how ‘Sarvann’ is different from the usual Punjabi cinema she added, “The film doesn't have those typical Punjabi embellishments of bhangra songs and Punjabi-style weddings. But it conveys a hard-hitting message amid a very engaging story."

The film stars Amrinder Gill, Simi Chahal and Ranjit Bawa as the main protagonists of the film and will hit the theatres on 13 January.
