While it is a common notion that star kids have it easy in the Bollywood industry, actor Jackie Shroff thinks otherwise
A lot has been discussed and stated recently on the topic of nepotism after Kangana made a remark on Karan Johar, calling him the flag-bearer of nepotism in the Hindi film industry. While it is a common notion that star kids have it easy in the Bollywood industry, actor Jackie Shroff thinks otherwise.

Jackie's son Tiger Shroff has managed to carve a niche for himself in the industry. Tiger has done well in the industry and is a favourite amongst the young audience. Jackie Shroff is a proud father and has often stated that he feels happy to be known as Tiger's dad.

Like every star kid, Tiger too has come across questions of having support from his star father. However, Jackie Shroff thinks that to be a star kid is not easy. What follows is the constant scrutiny and pressure to outdo their parents that the star kids have to go through. Jackie Shroff feels that it is a rather big challenge for the star kids to make an identity for themselves, one that is different from that of their family.

In an interview with PTI, Jackie stated, "They have a burden in their heads, of their father, mother, family. They have the pressure to succeed. Star kids have to come out of the shadow of their fathers, be it me, Bachchan sir (Amitabh Bachchan), Dharmendra, Vinod sir (Vinod Khanna). There are so many people watching you, have expectations from you. It isn't easy being a star kid that way when you have to tackle all the pressure and still make your mark. It's (acting) in the genes; if they have it they will use it and make wonders for themselves. Nobody can take away your talent."

Tell us if you agree with what Jackie Shroff has to say about being a star kid.
