Jodhpur theatre owners requested by Karni Sena to not screen 'Padmaavat'

Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s magnum opus ‘Padmaavat’ is still facing issues as the release date is nearing. Now the Shri Rajput Karni Sena has met the theatre owners in Jodhpur today, requesting for their cooperation against the screening of ‘Padmaavat’ in multiplexes and single screen. A member of the fringe group even informed that they also requested the owners not to screen the film until the Supreme Court decides on the review petition to be moved by the Rajasthan government.


The Supreme Court had declared an all-India release for the film for 25th January. They had even suspended the ban on the 4 states which were opposing form releasing the film. The states were Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat. Ravipal Singh Sarecha said, "We met the cinema hall owners and requested them to cooperate with our movement and they have assured of the cooperation.”


Ravipal Singh Sarecha said that the Jodhpur theatre owners are still looking forward to the decision of the association of silver screens in the state on screening ‘Padmaavat’. He even clarified that they have not threatened the owners against screening the film and said that he have just requested them to do so.
