Kabir Khan on Shah Rukh Khan's cameo in 'Tubelight'

The trailer of Kabir Khan's next, 'Tubelight' has been making waves for all the right reasons. While 'Tubelight' is one of the most-awaited releases of 2017, Kabir Khan has managed the impossible as he has managed to cast the two superstars, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan together.

Talking about getting Shah Rukh Khan on board for a cameo in the film Kabir revealed that while he finds the concept of cameos by big stars 'gimmicky', this particular part in 'Tubelight' demanded a superstar.

Kabir said, "It was a role screaming for a superstar cameo otherwise I wouldn’t have. I find it gimmicky. But when you will watch the film, you will realise the role needed a superstar. We went to him with the role and he was kind enough to agree. It is a brilliant cameo but I can’t say much about it because it will take away the joy of seeing it."

While Kabir and Shah Rukh Khan have known each other for a long time, the two have never collaborated on a project. Talking about the same Kabir Khan said, "I would love to work with him. I have known him since college days in Delhi. We shot for an advertisement recently and we do speak about ideas. So, if there comes an idea, we both agree upon, I am sure we will collaborate."
