Does Kangana Ranaut harbour dreams about testing foreign waters? This is what she has to say about actresses going West
Sonam Kapoor recently revealed that she is in talks for a Hollywood venture, and Deepika Padukone and Priyanka Chopra are already making it big in the West. And thus it no more surprises us when an actress is asked about harbouring Hollywood dreams. Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone have managed to set a firm foot in Hollywood, and Sonam Kapoor too announced that she is to test the foreign waters soon. With the actresses basking in the glory of receiving Hollywood offers, Kangana Ranaut is in no mood to look towards the West.

Kangana has received appreciation in abundance for her acting skills and choice of roles. And yet the actress harbours no dreams of working in the West. In an interview with a leading daily, Kangana opened up about being a part of the Hollywood industry. She said, "It would be stupid for anyone to make the move to the West now. Their theatre business is crashing because of the influx of digital media. Asia, on the other hand, is where Hollywood was 15 years ago. It is a lucrative time for entertainment here. These are baits that I won’t fall prey to."

Not only does Kangana think that the Hollywood industry is silly, she also thinks that home-bred films should be given preference. Kangana further adds, "If an American film (The Jungle Book, 2016) is doing Rs 100 crore business, and not all our films are able to, we may not find adequate screens for home-bred films 10 years down the line.I’m all for world cinema, but it needs to be a film that brings employment and money into our country. I don’t wish to offer myself on a platter to another industry."

Well, to each it's own! Do you agree to what Kangana has to say about working in Hollywood?
