While she turned scriptwriter with ‘Simran’ (she was credited as the co-writer of the film), Kangana Ranaut has always been open about her dream of directing a movie. However, the actress rues that the failure of her last release, ‘Simran’, has posed an obstacle in fulfilling the desire.

In an EXCLUSIVE interview, she says, “Somehow, the failure of ‘Simran’ caused a setback in my plans to direct a movie. The entire onus came on me, though I was only the co-writer. I am not being able to get the kind of money that I needed for my directorial debut. I have never done anything in my life without obstacles, here is another one. Now, I need to wait for the tide to turn so that I can get a favourable environment. As an actor, people have a lot of faith in me and they value me, and I can say that with gratitude and humility. Likewise, if I am directing a film, I want people to have faith in me and invest in what I am doing without any doubt.”
