Talking about SS Rajamouli's magnum opus, Karan exclaimed, "Most anticipated film is not a bollywood film. Be it single screens or multiplexes Indians are excited all over. It connects to pan audience. This is heading towards a historic run at the box office. I hope Bollywood is more inspired by this film. In fact, so many up and coming directors are inspired by Rajamouli." Karan, who had previously come out strongly in support of Sanjay Leela Bhansali during the Jaipur incident, also spoke about the Kolhapur attacks on the sets. Condemning the attacks Karan said, "It's deeply saddening to me as a filmmaker, as a human being, as a citizen of our prestigious and wonderful country that we have to endure something like this. My thoughts, my support and all my ideologies are with Sanjay. Everytime I read something like this, it deeply saddens me."
